Welcome to Thomas Price Family Archives. The purpose of this Home Page is to assist Price and other family related historians in finding their "lost" relatives by sharing this genealogical resource. The original author of The Price Family Genealogy was Professor Ira Maurice Price,PhD, LLD, (Sematic Languages, University of Chicago 1890-1925). Ira spent more than forty years of concentrated effort researching and compiling the Price family genealogy. The Price Family Genealogy document and his research notes are the keystones of this report.
The ThomasPrice Family Genealogy has been up-dated with over 11,000 family related member files and dates from1 the early 1600's in America and 1700's in Wales to the present. It illustrates how five families who came from Wales to the Welsh Hills, Licking Co., OH, 1801-21, are of the same generation intermarried between 1820 and 1845-- GLYNNS, PRICES, JONESES, PITTSFORDS, and POWELLS. It contains over 400 Price surnames and their family histories all verified from their source.
The Price Genealogy began in America in 1821 when Thomas Price took his wife, Sarah, and his two daughters, Mary and Elizabeth, and his two sons, John and Edward left Hay, Wales, UK and after a two month voyage arrived at Baltimore, Maryland.
In 1823 Thomas Price and his family journeyed to the Welsh Hills near Granville, Ohio to make their new home. (See below for details of Thomas Price & Sarah-Thomas Price & Sarah come to America 1821)
